Join us for a weekend that promises learning along with the joy of sharing creative energy in a wonderful natural location.
Set in the heart of the beautiful Okanagan Valley, this three-day workshop is a great opportunity to learn how to create loose and intuitive landscape paintings with watercolour. We will combine in-studio sessions with time in nature, and Lynda will provide lots of demonstrations with helpful tips and insights.
We’ll begin by reviewing our materials and discussing composition. You’ll learn various techniques in paint application and brush handling along with using light, shadow, contrast, and balance to create atmosphere and the illusion of detail in your paintings.
Participants will explore the process of looking at scenes from an artist’s perspective - developing their power of observation and trusting their own vision and intuition. We’ll be in a lovely forest setting with a gorgeous lake shore just steps away, so we’ll observe and commit elements of scenery/landscape to memory – or you can pull out your camera/phone and take your own reference photos for future use.

Lynda has taken care to balance technical skill-building with encouragement toward personal expression and will allow space for plenty of one-on-one guidance during your time together.
